This pair of one of a kind black onyx earrings is named for the vampire, Mina, and features gothic style ear jackets. The earring jackets are paired with black onyx stud earrings (Jasper Studs). The beauty of earring jackets for studs is that you essentially get two pairs of earrings in one! The jacket earrings are removable so when you're feeling more low-key, you can rock the black onyx studs all on their own. To wear the ear jackets, simply slip the top loop of the jacket over the post earring before placing on the earring backing.  

Mina Harker is one of the OG vampire ladies, from the 1897 novel Dracula. She falls victim to Dracula’s bite and succumbs to his vampiric spell, becoming a vampire herself. However when Dracula is killed, she reverts back to human and lives happily ever after!

Ear Jacket Size: 1.85" inches long by itself. When placed with the stud earrings the full length is about 2" inches.

Black onyx has been used as a talisman of protection and focus by many cultures for centuries. Onyx is named for the Greek word onux for "fingernail" or "claw" and is the birthstone of Leos. Some believe onyx can absorb negative energy to protect the wearer from ill intentions. According to folklore, Cleopatra would wear black onyx jewelry to alert her to nearby danger. It is also believed that onyx holds memories, and can assist the wearer by providing focus and stamina to navigate difficult times or decisions.

Your earrings will be lovingly packed in a jewelry gift box inside a sturdy cardboard shipping box. I include an anti-tarnish strip that can be stored with the jewelry to help prevent tarnish as well as a complimentary polishing cloth to keep your jewels in top shape.

-=Jewelry Care=-

To keep your jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.

If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth. Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take care not to accidentally polish off the patina!

Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
