FAQ & Shop Policies
How long is your turnaround time?
Typically I try to ship items out within 1-3 business days if they are ready to ship.
For custom/made to order items, please allow 5-7 business days for the item to be completed.
If you need the item for a special occasion, please email me at erin@silverthawjewelry.com and I will do my best to accommodate your request.
How do your rings fit?
I do my best to provide accurate sizing descriptions!
If I state that the ring fits true to size, it will fit like the stated size.
Wider ring bands (5mm or larger) need some wiggle room on sizing. Wider ring bands will feel more snug on your finger, as it will sit on a fleshier part of the finger than a typical sized band. (For example, a wide size 8 might fit like a 7.25 or 7.5) For these types of rings I generally will give a range that it "best fits" to account for the wider band. If you have any questions about how a ring might fit you, don't hesitate to contact me!
What is your return policy?
Jewelry may be returned for a refund in its original condition within 30 days of purchase, minus cost of shipping. Returns must include tracking.

Do you take custom work?
I do not currently take custom work. In the event I do, it will be announced on instagram and my newsletter.
My silver jewelry tarnished. Is it real silver?
Yes, it's real! In fact, a lot of mass manufactured jewelry doesn't tarnish because it's plated base metal and not actually sterling silver!
All designs are created using sterling silver (.925) sheet and wire, as well as fine silver (.999). All chains and jump rings are also sterling silver. The appearance of the silver may be altered using different textures and patinas, but it's still silver!
Sterling silver is a metal alloy containing fine silver and a small amount of copper. Copper will oxidize with exposure, causing sterling silver to tarnish or blacken. In some cases a person’s body chemistry can also react with the silver, speeding up the natural tarnishing process. High sulphur content in local water or food can also react to silver.
In many of my designs the silver has been chemically oxidized (patina) in order to give the texture and design depth and then purposefully polished to bring out the highlights. This patina will wear unique to the owner - it may darken over time in places or polish off with exposure to skin and other jewelry. This natural process adds character and makes your jewelry unique. Please see my Jewelry Care page for instructions on how to keep your jewelry in good shape.
