Purple Heart Pendant Necklace in Sterling Silver
This heart pendant is bold, expressive, and intentionally imperfect — designed for those who love heart jewelry with depth rather than sweetness. It’s a piece where color and pattern come first, and the silverwork exists to support and frame what nature (and lapidary) created.
At the center is a heart-shaped Dahlia Violet composite stone, chosen for its rich purple tones and striking internal patterning. The material shows layered violet, plum, and lavender hues intersected by visible bronze and matrix lines, creating a fractured, organic look that feels more like stained glass than a polished gemstone. No two stones ever look alike.
The heart is framed in handcrafted sterling silver, fabricated entirely by hand in my studio. Oxidation is left in the recessed areas to emphasize depth and texture, while the outer edges are polished to define the heart’s shape. The finished pendant feels romantic without being delicate — expressive without feeling ornamental.
Handmade in my Fort Collins, Colorado studio.

✦ About Dahlia Violet
Dahlia Violet is a lapidary trade name used for a stabilized composite material valued for its vivid purple color and durability. It is made by the Kingman miners out of a white dolomite stone (similar to White Buffalo) that is dyed and mixed with a bronze matrix. Pattern, tone, and inclusions vary from stone to stone, making every piece visually distinct.

To keep your silver jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.
If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth.
Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take
care not to accidentally polish off the patina!
Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
