This sterling silver owl ring features a genuine Carico Lake turquoise cabochon, prized for its vibrant green coloring and natural matrix. The rich green tones complement the owl's intricate feather detailing, creating a striking combination of natural stone and antique-inspired silverwork.
The owl is pressed from a reproduction of an antique jewelry impression die, then carefully sawed out and incorporated into the ring’s design. The feather details and facial features are antiqued to bring out the texture, while the surrounding silver is polished to a bright finish.
The Carico Lake turquoise is set in a handmade fine silver bezel, with a substantial sterling silver band that measures approximately 4.5 mm wide at the back.

Turquoise is a relatively soft, porous gemstone and should be treated with care. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, lotions, perfumes, oils, and harsh chemicals. Remove before swimming, cleaning, or strenuous activities.
Gently clean the silver with a soft polishing cloth, taking care around the antiqued details. Avoid silver dips and ultrasonic cleaners.
Carico Lake turquoise comes from the Carico Lake mining district in Nevada, an area celebrated for producing some of the American Southwest's most distinctive green turquoise.
Known for its vivid apple-green, lime-green, and blue-green hues, Carico Lake turquoise often features contrasting brown or dark matrix that creates beautiful natural patterns. Its unusual coloring is associated with the mineral composition of the deposit, including the presence of zinc-bearing minerals.

To keep your silver jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.
If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth.
Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take
care not to accidentally polish off the patina!
Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
