Carico Lake Turquoise Sterling Silver Ring | Size 8

- Handcrafted in Colorado · Woman-Owned Studio · 54 Five-Star Reviews ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This size 8 Carico Lake turquoise ring is one of three, each stone freeform and unique, each set on its own hand-textured wide band. This one is a deep sea-green teal, smooth and almost clean, with only faint traces of matrix. A quiet, saturated stone that lets the color do all the talking.
The stone is bezel set on top of a wide sterling silver band, about 8mm across. I start each band with a swirl pattern, then work it over with hammers and fused silver dust until it looks more unearthed than made, and file the edges by hand so they stay organic instead of machine straight. Turquoise is one of December's birthstones, and a band this wide wears as a statement ring all on its own.
One of a kind. Made in my Fort Collins, Colorado studio. Ready to ship.

✦ About Carico Lake Turquoise
Carico Lake turquoise comes from a mine in Lander County, Nevada, named for the dried-up lake bed it sits beside. The stone ranges from light green to medium blue, often webbed with golden brown matrix, and the mine is famous for an apple-green variety colored by zinc. It's also known for something stranger: turquoise "fossil" clams, where ancient shells in the lakebed dissolved away and turquoise filled the empty shapes they left behind. The mine produces a fair amount of material, but high-grade stone from it is still uncommon. I picked these at the Denver gem show from Sunwest Silver, choosing each one for its color and character before it became a ring.

To keep your silver jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.
If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth.
Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take
care not to accidentally polish off the patina!
Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
