This Gothic initial ring features your chosen gothic blackletter letter pressed into solid copper sheet and framed in sterling silver. Inspired by illuminated manuscripts, wax seals, and antique medallions, it has the quiet character of something that feels discovered rather than newly made.

Each copper impression is raised on a stepped bezel before being set in sterling silver, giving the letter depth and the finished ring the look of a mounted relic. The floral sterling silver band complements the flowing forms of the Gothic script without competing for attention. Every ring is hand fabricated in my Fort Collins, Colorado studio and finished individually, so no two will be completely identical.

Made to order. Handmade in my Fort Collins, Colorado studio.

✦ Care

Copper naturally develops a richer patina over time through exposure to air and skin oils. Many people enjoy this aged appearance, while the raised areas will gradually brighten with wear. Polish the sterling silver gently with a soft cloth as needed. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals.

✦ About Gothic Initial Jewelry

Blackletter, often called Gothic script, developed in medieval Europe and became closely associated with illuminated manuscripts, early printed books, and decorative lettering. Its dramatic vertical lines and flowing flourishes have remained recognizable for centuries.

Each initial begins as a deeply detailed impression pressed into copper before being mounted in sterling silver. The warm copper contrasts naturally with the silver setting and develops character as it ages, giving every ring a slightly different appearance over time. The result is a piece that feels both personal and timeless, whether worn as an everyday initial ring or given as a meaningful gift.

I do NOT accept returns for:

  • Damage incurred with wear
  • Improper jewelry care (see my Jewelry Care page for proper care instructions)

To keep your silver jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.

If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth.
Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take
care not to accidentally polish off the patina!

Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
