This rose-cut rainbow moonstone ring is one of six, each stone unique, each one hand-selected for strong blue flash and natural character. The size 9 stone is the most complex in the set. Multiple hues of blue flash move across it as the light shifts, with yellow-gold rainbows shooting through at certain angles. It is the kind of blue flash moonstone ring that is genuinely difficult to put down.
The stone sits in a clean sterling silver bezel set with a hammered band. The rose cut means a faceted top and flat back, and those facets catch and scatter the light in a way a cabochon won't. Rainbow moonstone gets its name from the blue adularescence it shares with true moonstone, though the two come from different feldspar families, and a stone with this range of color phenomenon is not something you find at every price point.

Rainbow moonstone is a relatively soft stone. Avoid lotions, perfumes, and prolonged water exposure. Polish silver gently with a soft cloth as needed.
Rainbow moonstone is a variety of labradorite feldspar known for its blue adularescence, the optical phenomenon that sends a rolling wave of color across the surface as the viewing angle shifts. The effect comes from light scattering between thin layers within the stone. No two stones produce it identically, which is what makes each one worth looking at twice.
Rose-cut stones show the phenomenon differently than cabochons. The facets interrupt and redirect the light rather than letting it pool in one place, creating a more dynamic, shifting quality. Strong blue flash in a rose-cut moonstone ring is not the easiest thing to find, which is why I select each stone individually before it becomes a ring.

To keep your silver jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.
If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth.
Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take
care not to accidentally polish off the patina!
Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
