✦ About Sonoran Gold Turquoise

Sonoran Gold turquoise is a vibrant and sought-after variety mined near the U.S.–Mexico border in the state of Sonora. Unlike many traditional turquoise deposits that develop in dry, iron-rich host rock, Sonoran Gold often forms in pockets rich with copper and zinc — the elements responsible for its brilliant green-to-blue color transitions.

This material is celebrated for its vivid greens, minty blues, and warm golden matrix that can flow through the stone like watercolor. Many cabochons display striking “two-tone” or even “three-tone” color shifts, creating a luminous, almost gem-like appearance collectors love.

Because the turquoise is found in smaller seams rather than large veins, cutters embrace the natural shapes and zoning of each piece. Every cabochon has its own personality — from bright seafoam patterns to deeper mossy greens — making Sonoran Gold a favorite for one-of-a-kind jewelry.

If you’re drawn to turquoise with glowing color, organic movement, and a modern, expressive feel, Sonoran Gold is one of the most captivating varieties available today.

Please contact me at erin@silverthawjewelry.com

I do NOT accept returns for:

  • Damage incurred with wear
  • Improper jewelry care (see my Jewelry Care page for proper care instructions)

To keep your silver jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.

If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth.
Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take
care not to accidentally polish off the patina!

Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
