This sterling silver owl ring features a genuine Tyrone turquoise cabochon, with beautiful blue-green coloring and natural matrix that complements the owl's intricate feather detailing.
The owl is pressed from a reproduction of an antique jewelry impression die, then carefully sawed out and incorporated into the ring’s design. The feather details and facial features are antiqued to bring out the texture, while the surrounding silver is polished to a bright finish.
The Tyrone turquoise is set in a handmade fine silver bezel, with a substantial sterling silver band that measures approximately 4.5 mm wide at the back.

Turquoise is a relatively soft, porous gemstone and should be treated with care. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, lotions, perfumes, oils, and harsh chemicals. Remove before swimming, cleaning, or strenuous activities.
Gently clean the silver with a soft polishing cloth, taking care around the antiqued details. Avoid silver dips and ultrasonic cleaners.
Tyrone turquoise originates from the Tyrone mining district in southwestern New Mexico, near Silver City. The area has a long history of copper mining and is known for producing beautiful turquoise in shades ranging from bright sky blue to rich blue-green.
Tyrone turquoise is particularly admired for its vibrant coloring, sometimes accompanied by delicate brown or dark matrix. Much of the turquoise associated with the district was recovered during copper mining operations, and material from older production has become increasingly desirable among collectors and jewelry artists.
With its distinctive Southwestern origins and natural variations in color and pattern, each piece of Tyrone turquoise has its own individual character.

Your handcrafted jewelry will be lovingly packed in a gift box inside a sturdy cardboard shipping box. I include an anti-tarnish strip that can be stored with the jewelry to help prevent tarnish as well as a complimentary polishing cloth to keep your jewels in top shape.

To keep your silver jewelry looking like new, take that extra second to remove it before cleaning, bathing, swimming, or any activity that would cause excess wear and tear. Avoid exposing your jewelry to perfumes, lotions, soaps and other liquids, as well as extreme heat.
If your jewelry becomes dirty, clean with a soft cloth or soft tooth brush and a mild soap if necessary (I use Dawn), or polish with a silver polishing cloth.
Please note that polishing cloths are infused with an abrasive and will remove intentional patina along with the unwanted tarnish, so take
care not to accidentally polish off the patina!
Finally, as a best practice, store your jewelry in a cool, dry place with your complimentary anti-tarnish tab.
